NEON Enterprise Software Names Jack Olson as Chief Technology Officer to Drive Product Strategy
SUGAR LAND, TX. – Oct. 18, 2004 – NEON NEON Enterprise Software, Inc., a developer of software for mainframe computer database management, today announced the appointment of Jack Olson as chief technology officer.
Olson will direct the company's technology vision, focusing on solving problems for the mainframe-computing environment. He will define the company's long-term product direction and drive the company's expansion into new markets for enterprise systems software that will continue to meet the evolving needs of Fortune 1000 corporations and other large institutions depending on mainframe computer technology.
Olson said, "Most large companies and government organizations still do the bulk of their important, daily work on mainframes and will continue to do so for many years. Our direction will support these important applications."
Sonja Nelson, Vice President of Research and Development at NEON Enterprise Software, said, "Jack has had a long and highly productive career in the enterprise software market. Olson has more than 30 years of experience in commercial software development and is widely regarded as an expert in the field of data management systems and tools. His career includes several years at IBM, BMC Software, and Peregrine Systems. Before joining NEON Enterprise Software, he was chief technology officer and vice president of engineering at Evoke Software.
Olson is one of the original developers of data profiling technology, which analyzes and improves the accuracy of databases used by major corporations. He is the author of a book on the subject, Data Quality: The Accuracy Dimension (2002, Morgan Kaufmann). He has an M.B.A degree from Northwestern University and a B.S. degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
