Florida Department of Children and Families Selects NEON Enterprise Software's Database Management Products
SUGAR LAND, TX. – April 20, 2004 – NEON Enterprise Software, Inc., today announced that the Florida Department of Children and Families has purchased their suite of mainframe database management software products following an extensive evaluation process. One of the largest state agencies in Florida, the department processes millions of data transactions a day related to adoption, child abuse, childcare, domestic violence, economic services, foster care, homelessness, refugee services, substance abuse and mental health. Their IMS database is one of the largest in the world.
"With these new products from NEON Enterprise Software, our monetary savings are considerable. We have good upfront savings and will never have to pay upgrade fees, which is unusual in a software contract. We are saving Florida taxpayers a significant amount of money," said David G. Warfel, Director of Information Systems Production Services for the Department of Children and Families.

The comprehensive and detailed data used by the Department of Children and Families must be online and available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, leaving only the nighttime hours for extensive maintenance tasks such as database reorganizations.
"The products perform better than the ones we were using. It now takes us less time to perform our usual maintenance work, which gives us additional opportunity to perform other needed tasks.
