IMS Image Copy |
Eclipse iCopy™
Eclipse iCopy is a flexible image copy utility for all your IMS databases. Eclipse iCopy brings the database image-copy process up to the standard expected of a high performance, state-of-the-art utility program. The FastCopy feature further improves performance by utilizing hardware and software functions available on your system to speed the reading of data sets. The time that a database is unavailable during an image copy is reduced.
Key Features
| • |
Faster than IMS Image Copy by a
factor equal to the number of volumes over which a database is
equally spread. Eclipse iCopy achieves even faster speed for
databases stored on a single volume |
| • |
Self-tuning for items such as
block sizes, buffer pool sizes, or I/O subsystems |
| • |
Provides the option to create image
copies of databases, the HIDAM primary index, DBRC change accumulation
groups (CAGRPs), and database data set groups (DBDSGRPs) |
| • |
Dynamically allocates the data
sets using DFSMDA members from STEPLIB or IMSDALIB |
| • |
Provides unload, pointer checking,
scanning, index building and reloading of a database in the
same job that the image copy is made and with a single pass of
the database |
| • |
Creates image copies that are
fully compatible with Database Recovery Control (DBRC) and all
other IMS recovery tools |
| • |
Accepts utility control statements
used by the IBM Image Copy utilities as well as the free-form
Eclipse Reorganization Utilities command language |
| • |
Synchronizes volumes of multiple
image copy data sets made to tape |
| • |
Runs against Fast Path databases that
are online by using read-with-integrity to maintain the integrity
of the data in the image copy |
| • |
Creates consistent or concurrent
image copies, using IBM-compatible JCL |
| • |
Supports a hash-pointer check of
the database |
| • |
Creates concurrent image copies
under DFSUDMT0 in standard image copy
format |
